ForIT Welcomes Judgement in Abhaya's Case

The fast-track court has given it's judgement in the Abhaya case, the first judgment in Andhra Pradesh under Nirbhaya law. Forum of IT Professionals(ForIT) expresses it satisfaction over the judgement given. We are glad that our efforts didn't go in vain. The wide public outcry post Abhaya incident has been initiated by ForIT. We demanded and brought an increase in public transportation in HiTech city locality, the results of which can be seen from the employees reaching home safe. Almost all IT companies are now having cabs with GPS facility and an escort for a female employee traveling alone in them which was one of our primary demand. We are also striving to ensure public transportation to those working for late night shifts. Apart from this we have also conducted protests creating awareness among people about the issues faced by a woman in the society, conducted open debates and came up with solutions. "No change comes without the involvement of the masses", ForIT believes in this and it has been actively mobilizing people to fight against the atrocities we are seeing in our daily life.

We express our condolences to the family of the lady who recently committed suicide after she was gang raped in Medak. ForIT condemns this incident and demands fast-track court's judgment for this. We demand more fast-track courts and we will fight  for the day until no such incidents are repeated. That would be our true victory.
