ForIT Pledges Support For Hudhud Relief And Reconstruction Work

Hudhud wreaked havoc in the north coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh. Visakhapatnam, the largest city in the newly formed state of Andhra Pradesh is the worst affected. 23 lives were lost due to the severe cyclone, with wind speeds touching 200 kmph. Thousands of houses were destroyed. Trees were uprooted. The losses are estimated to be at least Rs.10,000 crore according to some estimates. Officials say that the entire city of Visakhapatnam needs to be rebuilt. The situation is bad in the other districts of north coastal Andhra Pradesh as well.

This calls for urgent relief efforts from all quarters. The rescue operations have already begun and are being carried out round the clock. However, as responsible citizens, the onus is on all of us to join the rescue operations.

Forum of IT Professionals (ForIT) pledges its support for the relief and reconstruction work in Hudhuh affected areas. It reaffirms its commitment for the society. ForIT promises to stretch beyond its capacity to ensure maximum possible support from the IT fraternity. ForIT urges all IT employees and concerned citizens alike to join us and participate in the relief work.

In this direction, we are organizing a meeting on 14th October, 2014 from 8:00 PM onwards at SVK, Beside Center for Good Governance, Gachibowli 'X' Roads. We request all IT employees to take part in this meeting to discuss how 'together, we can make a difference!' All you need is a burning desire to contribute!

We look forward to meet you at the meeting!
