Forum of IT Professionals (ForIT) in collaboration with Swecha, part of Free Software Movement of India, has delivered on its promise to help rebuild one colony from the Hudhud affected Visakhapatnam.
Forum of IT Professionals (ForIT) has been working towards the relief work in Hudhud affected areas right from day 0. ForIT has also resolved to not stop at the relief work and go for reconstruction work.
ForIT has collaborated with Swecha, part of Free Software Movement of India. Swecha has been working with the community in taking forward the ideals of free software. Swecha has got a vast network of volunteers from the industry and the academia alike.
Forum of IT Professionals (ForIT) has called for a meeting on 14th October, 2014 to discuss how the IT fraternity in Hyderabad could contribute towards the relief and reconstruction work in Hudhud affected areas.
Friends, due to time constraint, we couldn't create a separate bank account for seeking contributions. However, we have cleaned up the entire account of one of our volunteers. This account will be completely used for this activity, with no personal transactions of our volunteer. All the details, every rupee received as contribution and every rupee spent, will be publicly documented and displayed in our website.
Hudhud wreaked havoc in the north coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh. Visakhapatnam, the largest city in the newly formed state of Andhra Pradesh is the worst affected.
